I’m always happy to find new products I can be comfortable using with my family. You know, the things without “phosphates” and “parabens” and host of other “extras.” Laundry soap can be especially problematic. And if you’re using cloth diapers (like I was until the end of last year) it’s especially important to make a good choice!

Charlie’s Soap is a popular choice for a cloth diaper detergent so I was eager to try it out. Charlie’s Soap sent me a couple samples to try out of their powder detergent and all-purpose cleaner.

I washed a load of dirty diapers with 1 TBSP of Charlie’s Soap (yes that’s all it takes!) and my diapers came out smelling clean. In fact, Charlie’s Soap was the last detergent I used before putting the diapers away in their wet bag about a month and a half ago. I took them out today, just to smell and guess what? No residual smell!

I can see why Charlie’s Soap is a popular choice among cloth diapering veterans, and if you’d like to check them out for yourself, you can visit the Charlie’s Soap website. You can get their products at their online store or a variety of stores near you.

Also find them on facebook and Google+!

  1. All of my friends that have little ones rave bout this soap! My kids are older and no longer need diapers but I wish I had known about this when they were small, I couldn’t find anything that didn’t make their poor little rear ends break out and I bet this would have worked like a charm!

  2. Charlie’s Soap has helped a lot of families find a solution to ecofriendly laundry routines. I’m glad you found it to be successful for you!

  7. I have never even heard of this!! I will have to look into it!! I am glad that you liked it!! So awesome.

  8. Is it just for cloth diapers or can it be used on laundry for the whole family? My baby is 9 🙂

    • It’s for the whole family but is cloth diaper friendly. 🙂 Pretty much any detergent that can be used for cloth diapers can be used for regular clothes, but not all regular detergents are good for cloth diapers.
