citrus lane january '13 box

I got my Citrus Lane box this week. This is the first time I’ve gotten a box from Citrus Lane, though I’ve had my eye on them for a while. Somehow I was just not sure I wanted to spend $25 on the box. But since I had the chance to get it at a discount, I decided to go for it. By the way, you can get $10 off your first box when you sign up here. That’s $15 for your first box.
Citrus Lane is a subscription service that sends you a box of products each month geared toward your child’s age. When you sign up, your card will get charged each month when they send your box. You can cancel at anytime, however. So if, after the first month, you decide it’s not worth it, you can just cancel and will no longer be charged.
There were definitely some cute items in this month’s box. Whether I would have paid $25 for it is negligible, but some months customers hve gotten things like back-packs, toys and keepsakes. So what was in my box?
Zoo Plate and Bowl Set from Skip Hop (APR-$12)–This owl themed plate and bowl set was too cute! I know my daughter loved it! This set is dishwasher (but not microwave) safe and features 2 compartments on the plate and a matching bowl.
Episencial Soothing Creme (plus wash sample)(APR-$11)–This is a scent free lotion made just for babies. I also received a sample of their 2-in-1 Playful Wash. I would have honestly rather I’d received a full size wash and sample of lotion, since I have tons of baby lotions I still haven’t used.
CleanWell Disinfectant Spray (APR $10 for 3)–I can’t tell you how many times I wish I had something exactly like this. A mini disinfectant spray that can fit in your purse or diaper bag. I usually have a can of Lysol wipes, but that takes up a lot of space. And the travel packs are expensive. But this is perfect. I can use it to spray down a shopping cart or restaurant high chair, and it’s made from botanical products, so no harmful chemicals!
Over in the Meadow from Barefoot Books (APR $10)–This book, which comes with a CD explores the different animals who live over in the meadow through song. There are only 3 tracks on the CD, but I like the music.
So, there was about $35 worth of items in this box. So if you think of it that way, $25 would have been a good deal. They just aren’t all products I would have bought. But I can always give some away. I think I’ll stick with it for now and see what I get next month. And like I mentioned before, you can try your first box for $15 when you sign up here. Remember, you need to cancel if you decide you don’t want it. But I think it’s worth a try. :-) Order before February 5 to get February’s box!
