Fiber Love Fiber Bars

Fiber Love Fiber Bars

Did you know that most Americans don’t get enough fiber in their diet? Fiber is very important for digestion and other health benefits such as helping your body guard against diabetes, constipation and obesity.

It is recommended for women to have at least 25 grams of fiber daily and men should have up to 38 grams, depending on caloric intake. Many people only get an average of 15 grams a day.

Ideally, most of our fiber should come from fruits, vegetables and whole grains. But in our busy lives, it can sometimes be difficult to do that which is why so many people fall short of the recommended daily dose.

So when I found out about Fiber Love, from Gnu foods, I was excited to try it out. These convenient snack size bars contain 12 grams of fiber, including both soluble and insoluble, and 3 grams of protein. They also come in twelve flavors and the folks at Fiber Love were nice enough to send me one of each flavor.

The very first time I saw a Fiber Love bar, I admit I was a little skeptical of how it might taste. If it had 12 grams of fiber, it would probably be grainy and have the texture of cardboard, right? Much to my surprise I really liked it. This was the cinnamon raisin flavor, just to be clear. :-)

I was eager to see if the other flavors were just as good. I think my favorite ended up being the Blondie, closely followed by the Cinnamon Raisin. My hubby’s favorites were the blueberry cobbler, apple cobbler and cinnamon raisin.

So, one morning DH took on of the Fiber Love bars with him on the way to work and I didn’t realize it. He hadn’t had the chance to eat breakfast and he happened to find my little box and helped himself to the cinnamon raisin one. So when I mentioned the bars to him later (as if it was news to him) he was like “Oh yeah, I had one this morning. It was really good. I was surprised.” He also added that it kept the edge off his hunger at work and normally he is starving way before lunch time.

So, Fiber Love bars are some of the better tasting fiber bars we’ve tried. You can get them at Amazon, but the best deal comes from joining the Fiber Love Club, where you choose how many bars you want and how often and it includes shipping. In fact, we’ve already set up ours!

Check out Fiber Love and see all the great flavors they have to offer!
