Find Your Adventure in Gulf County, Florida!

Most people know that Florida is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the country. Of course there are the ever-popular theme parks and city attractions, but there is another more natural side to vacationing, where you can truly relax.

In Gulf County, Florida, there is a host of fun, family friendly adventures waiting for you. My husband grew up on the Gulf coast and I lived there several years myself, so we know what the natural beauty of Florida has to offer.

If you are the adventurous type and want a good workout to go with your sightseeing, a kayak ride through the Dead Lakes might be just what you’re looking for. Especially with a light fog over the water, you’ll experience an other-worldly feeling among the Cypress and Tupelo trees. Make sure you’re up for it though, because your arms will get tired pretty quick!

If you want something a little more relaxing, Gulf County is home to several beaches. And the things you can do at the beach are endless. I’ve always loved picking up shells and building sandcastles. Snorkeling is one beach adventure I have yet to try and my husband loves fishing. Fishing and the beach are what he misses most about Florida!

One of my favorite things to do in a new place is check out the local cuisine and shopping. Whether you’re a seafood aficionado or looking for good pizza or barbeque, there are many great local restaurants to choose from. You’ll also find unique little shops and boutiques, so you can find the perfect souvenir to remind you of your time here!

It is true there are a lot of retirees down there! Where we used to live, it seemed like a good number.
