Grandma’s Pure and Natural Soap Review

Grandma's Pure and Natural Soap Review

There are so many chemicals and ingredients you can’t pronounce in today’s commercial soaps that it’s time to just go back to basics. After all, our ancestors didn’t have all the -ines, -ydes, and -ates in their soap. And Grandma’s Pure and Natural is going back to basics and making pure soap.

I got a small sampling of products from Grandma’s Pure and Natural Soap. Grandma’s Lye Soap contains just 3 ingredients–lye, food grade lard and water. It’s about as basic as you get. It doesn’t get super sudsy, but you smell clean afterward. There is not much fragrance to the pure soap–just a faint soap smell.

¬†Grandma’s Pure and Natural Soap does offer a variety of other soaps (still with natural pronouncable ingredients) such as herbal soaps, goat’s milk soap and special soaps like the Baby Bar, Shampoo bar and Pet Soap. I was hoping to get a sampling of at least a few different types of soap so I would have more info to share, but unfortunately I only got to try the basic pure soap bar. The basic bar is great for my kids and hubby, but personally I like a little something extra (like herbs or honey or oatmeal).

Grandma’s Pure and Natural also offers laundry soap and hand lotion. I got enough laundry soap for 2 loads. The 2 TBSP dose is good for a medium size or so load of laundry. My clothes didn’t have much scent at all when they came out, so that just means they’re clean with no added “fragrance.”
