KidsLac Children’s Probiotics

I was recently offered the opportunity to review KidsLac probiotics for children. KidsLac (from Global Health Trax) comes in a single-serve drink powder mix and you can just add it to your child’s cup or sippy cup. The flavor we received was sour apple, which is good because I usually give my daughter just a little apple juice in her water. I do not know that KidsLac comes in any other flavors at this time.
So, why give your kids probiotics? Well, they help maximize the body’s absorbtion of nutrients, boost their immune systems and replenish good bacteria in their bodies if they’ve been taking antibiotics.
The KidsLac drink packets contain the following probiotics: DDS-1 strain of Lactobacillus acidophilus, which control PH levels in the colon and initiates colinization of good bacteria. Bifidobacterium bifidum maintains intestinal flora. Bifidobacterium lactis–supports the immune system. Bifidobacterium infantis is the main bacteria found in breastfed infants. And Bifidobacterium longum helps metabolize a wider range of carbohydrates.
The friendly bacteria in KidsLac probiotic has been specially selected as the most beneficial blend for children’s digestive system. You should not give children probiotics that are not specifically for children. Also, this is not a substitute for healthy eating habits. You should always try to give your children a balanced diet. But we parents know kids can be picky eaters, so a good multi-vitamin and/or children’s probiotic just might help bridge the nutritional gap!
