Make it Monday: Homemade Finger Paint
Okay, so here is a recipe for homemade finger paint. What is great about this is that everything in this recipe is edible. It might not taste too great, but if your child does decide they must have a taste, no harm will come to them.
Here are the ingredients:
1/2 cup cornstarch
3 TBSP sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups water
food coloring.
Heat all the ingredients (except the food coloring) in a saucepan and heat on low-med/low until the mixtures, almost to a glaze consistency.
Allow the mixture to cool and divide into the number of colors you want. It may be a little lumpy, like mine was, but it will still work.
You should use really thick paper for thins, like paper that is for finger painting. Otherwise the paper may get wet through.
That’s it. Let your kids have fun. No worries!
How I remember this when I was young.
I am going to start making this for when my grandkids come over the house – they love to paint and with the nice weather I can set up an easel and these paints and they can go at it.
Thanks for linking up to my Tutorial Tuesday blog hop. I've chosen this post for my spotlight post. Here's the link where you'll find it once it goes live. http://thebreezybirdie.blogspot.com/search/label/Tutorial%20Tuesday
Cool, thanks! is this for next Tuesday's link up?
Sounds like fun! I’ll have to try this with the kiddos tomorrow 🙂
Let me know how it turns out for you!
