Pumpin Pal: The “Good Latch” Flange

I received a set of Pumpin Pal breast shields for review. All opinions are my own.

As National Breastfeeding Month draws to a close, I’d like to share one more product with my readers who might be new or expecting moms. This product is more specifically for pumping moms.

The Pumpin Pal is a different kind of breast shield, as it is angled, in order to promote a better flow and reduce irritation. The Pumpin Pal shields also allow you to lean back a bit while pumping so you don’t tire your back out as much.

As a mom who pumps at least once a day (and I have pumped with all 3 kids) I was eager to see how the Pumpin Pal shields would impact my experience. The company sent me a set of their shields to try out. They sent one pair of each of the three sizes they have. It’s recommended to try all three sizes to figure out which is the best fit for you.

I figured out I need the largest set. It didn’t cause me to produce more milk, but about the same amount. The angled neck is helpful for being able to sit in a more comfortable position.

You can find out more about the benefits of Pumpin Pal flanges here and decide if you think they might be a good fit for you. They work with many breast pumps.

The company’s origin was with the hands-free breast pumping necklace. I did not try this, but I felt it was worth mentioning!
