My kids love play dough and they love bath time. So imagine a play dough they can play with in the bath tub. Wouldn’t that be, like, totally cool? Well, now there is such product in the works and it’s called Sudsy Dough! It’s both a play dough and a soap and ups the bath time fun factor!
Sudsy Dough was created by Andy and Katie Wallace to make bath time a little more enticing for their daughter who wasn’t so fond of the tub. Now, my kids (ages 5, 3 and 9 months) have no problem getting in the tub–in fact they love it! But that doesn’t mean they don’t love bath time enhancements.
I was sent a container of Sudsy Dough to try out. My kids were super-excited at the prospect of play dough they could play with in the bathtub. My 5 and 3 year old are both always wanting play dough, but I always dread the mess they make with it. Sudsy dough is easier to clean up.
Now, when I first opened up the container of Sudsy Dough, I found it to be a little dry and crumbly. If this is the case for you, you might scrape it out of the original container into a bowl and knead it back together. Note that we live in a really dry climate, so more humid climates may not have this issue. Also, the Sudsy sample container we received wasn’t air tight, like the final product will be. If the dough does get a bit dry, you can re-moisturize it by kneading in a few drops of water.
My kids are still always asking for the “bath play dough.” I can’t wait until they launch so we can get some more! Sudsy Dough is infused with shea butter and coconut oil and after washing it off your hands, your hands will feel moisturized.
Because you are playing with it in the water, it is a little more gooey on the surface, but still moldable. Here is my daughter making a little horse (or something).
But she also really liked sticking it on the wall.
Sudsy Dough is Paraben-free, phthalate-free, and sulfate-free, available in 4 colors and scents and each comes with a little squirt toy. I tried the green, apple scented one and can’t wait to try the others!
Sudsy Dough is not available to the public yet. They still need to get enough backers before they can launch. If you are interested in being a part of this project, check out the Sudsy Dough Kickstarter page. I’m really, really hoping they are able to meet their goal and have made a pledge myself. Backers get a free gift, depending on what they pledge.
