Tasty Tuesday: BBQ Chicken Sandwiches
It’s summertime! And that means BBQ chicken sandwiches! This is a really good recipe that I just had to share! Looking at the recipe, the ingredients probably aren’t something I would have thought to mix together. But once you heat it all up, it was delicious!
I found this recipe here and made some slight modifications. For 3-4 sandwiches you will need:
2 cooked boneless chicken breasts (I just boiled them)
3 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp apple cider vinegar (I used 1/2 tsp apple juice and 1/2 tsp white vinegar)
pinch crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 TBSP water
Combine all the ingredients except (chicken breast) in a bowl.
Then cut/shred up the cooked chicken breast.
Add the chicken breast to the sauce, put it in a pot and cover. Allow to cook on med-low about 1-1 1/2 hours.
Alternatively, you can put it in a crockpot and cook for a few hours. About 10 minutes before serving, toast the insides of a few hamburger buns in a lightly buttered skillet.
Put desired amount of chicken on a bun and served with green beans, potato salad, baked beans, or whatever you like with your BBQ!
This barbecue staple looks so delicious, I can’t wait until summer to taste it. I am making this tomorrow.
oh a really easy and delish recipe! I can’t wait to try this, I don’t need to use the slow cooker, grill or oven etc etc. yum yum!
Yum!! Hubby and son are big bbq fans!! I bet this would go over so well with them!! Planning them for dinner!!
I made this recently. It was so good. I will definitely make it again.
They are pretty good. And not too much work, which is great.
I love chicken sandwiches, especially ones I can make in my slow cooker. This sounds delicious.
We really enjoy these. I hope you do too. I love meals that are easy to prepare. 🙂
