Tasty Tuesday: Macaroni and Cheese
This is my favorite macaroni and cheese recipe. This is my go-to for potlucks and I always get compliments and request for this dish.
To make it you will need: 12 oz package of elbow macaroni
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
2 cups milk
3 cups shredded cheddar
Prepare macaroni according to package directions. Meanwhile, melt butter in a large skillet and mix in the flour. Then add the milk. Cook on medium heat about 5 minutes and mix in 1 cup of the cheese to make a cheese sauce.
Drain boiled noodles and mix together with cheese sauce. Spread about 1/2 of the cheesy noodles in a 9×13 baking dish and top with 1 cup of the shredded cheddar. Repeat with the rest of the noodles and cheddar. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, until cheese is golden brown.
Enjoy the cheesy goodness!
I have been using this recipe for the last 2 years and it is amazing! I tend to tweak it a bit and add more cheese or different cheeses. Also is super good to add cayenne pepper, steamed broccoli, and some cut up sausage! Mix it together before you pop it in the oven!
I love the all natural ingredients in this family staple and how easy it is to prepare
Macaroni and cheese is my all-time favorite comfort food! I’m loving how easy this recipe is. I can’t wait to try it! Thank you for sharing.

I ‘m always on the look out for new recipes and this mac and cheese recipe looks simple to make and sounds good.
I have been looking for an old fashion Macaroni and cheese bake. I do not like the box ones. I know there is more fat in the old fashion recipe, but boy does it taste Awesome. Thanks:)

I live in the South and love homemade mac and cheese. You’re right, it’s at almost every family gathering, potluck, BBQ, etc. that we go to, but I’ve always been afraid to make it. This recipe looks easy and doable…even for me! Thanks!
My family, including the grandkids love Mac & Cheese. I like the the picture of your recipe. Mac & Cheese has to taste better with real cheddar & when the cheese browns to that golden color.
Baked mac and cheese is my favorite way to have it. I don’t know many people that don’t care for this recipe!
I have always failed epically at making mac and cheese from scratch. Kraft blue box is a staple in my pantry. This, however, sounds pretty easy. Fingers crossed 🙂
I love homemade macaroni and cheese but I have never attempted to make it myself. Love to give this recipe a try.
I do not like mac & cheese. I’ve tried lots of people’s recipes, but still don’t like it.
I like this recipe. I can never seem to find one that my hubby and son like, they both the mac and cheese in the box rules, hopefully, this recipe will change their minds 🙂
