Did you know learning a second language sharpens literacy skills and develop a greater sensitivity to language, a better ear for listening, and a stronger appreciation for other cultures? Children are especially susceptible when their brains are developing most rapidly, in their early years. This is why a good program to teach toddlers a second language is great to have.

Whistlefritz is a wonderful choice for teaching your kids a second language, because it teaches language by immersion, which is the best way to learn. Learning by immersion just means hearing the language spoken, little to no translation. After all, that’s how they learned their first language.

Whistlefritz currently offers DVD’s and CD’s for both French and Spanish. If you’re interested in a full experience, Whistlefritz offers the 40-week Educator’s Collection for learning Spanish.

The Educator’s Collection includes not only the full collection of Spanish DVD’s, but a book of lesson plans which includes activities and scripts to use when teaching young children and flashcards.

My kids have really enjoyed the Spanish DVD’s–especially the one about animals! The DVD is completely in Spanish and is really just like watching any other children’s show. The movies show real kids as well as a few animated characters and include lots of music and fun. They teach about animals, seasons, stuff around the house and more!

In my opinion, Whistlefritz is the best program I’ve come across for teaching a second language to children. It’s more natural and is not just a character saying different words. This program keeps kids engaged. Whether you are a preschool teacher, homeschooling parent or simply looking for something to interest your kids in learning another language, Whitstlefritz has something for you!

This sounds great. We speak English and my children know some and are still learning ASL. I can’t help but think Spanish would be useful to them on a daily basis. This sounds like a laid back way to teach them a third language.
