Have you tried coconut oil? There are a lot of benefits to coconut oil and it can also be used externally with great results. Coconut oil is one of those “good fats” that are supposed to be ok for us to have and are supposed to actually help us burn fat.

At one point in the past, I was taking a tablespoon or two a day. On these days, I felt like I had less “cravings” than usual. I also feel like it helped my digestion. This website has a lot of info on coconut oil, including many benefits and info on how it has helped some people lose weight.
The brand of coconut oil I tried previously did not really taste or smell like coconuts to, so I set out to find another one. I finally came across Kelapo.
Kelapo was nice enough to send me a jar of their coconut oil to try out, and when I opened the jar, it actually smelled like coconut. Imagine that!
While I’m not a super huge fan of just straight coconut oil, this brand just seemed, to me, what coconut oil should smell and taste like. So I was happy with what I got.
You can use coconut oil in all kinds of recipes, both sweet and savory and it also does great things for your skin and even your hair.

  1. I love coconut oil! I take tablespoons everyday. I use it on my skin, as a moisturizer. You can even use it on your hair, by it self or use it with cayenne pepper to help grow your hair and stimulate the hair follicles.

  2. I use coconut oil, but it doesn’t really smell or taste like coconut. 🙁 So now I am wondering what the difference is and if mine is just not good for ya. Thank you for the review. I will have to keep an eye out.

  3. This is different and I have never tried it before, but I think I might test it out, and see how well it works with weight loss

  4. I like the fact that taking a couple of teaspoons may stop some cravings..I’ve never used coconut oil, but I am thinking about it now.

  5. I’ve just started using coconut oil in my cooking (vegan chocolate cake with peppermint icing – yummy!) and have some crafts to do as well. So far, I’m impressed with it. Now, if the pric could just drop a wee bit….

  6. I have a friend who takes coconut oil supplements and says that it is easy to loose weight on them, she hasn’t stayed on them long enough to loose much at a time so I don’t know that for sure myself.

  7. I’ve been wondering about this coconut oil craze myself. For me it was always associated with hair care. But it’s great that it’s evolved to be known for being a good fat and an alternative source in cooking instead of heavy butter. I know that coconut milk is primary ingredient in many South Asian (Thai, Myanmar, Indonesia, etc) countries, but I haven’t yet had oil in anything. I’ll have to research this more and seek out recipes! Thanks or sharing your information!
