Low Fat Sugar Free Cream Cheese Frosting

Cream Cheese Fuel Pull Frosting

Sugar Free Cream Cheese Fuel Pull Frosting (THM-FP)

There are a lot of great recipes for sugar free frosting out there, but a lot of them are full of heavy whipping cream, cream cheese, or both. There don’t seem to be a whole lot of low fat frosting options out there.

If you’re following the Trim Healthy Mama plan, sometimes you just need a fuel pull frosting to go with your fuel pull or E cake.

By the way, if you find all this terminology confusing, please see my post on starting Trim Healthy Mama.

Basically, what you need to know is this frosting is low fat, low carb and sugar free. So if you’re looking for a low fat frosting option, you’ve come to the right place!

This recipe was adapted from the filling recipe for my no bake peaches and cream pie, and this frosting does have sort of the texture of a creamy cheesecake, but it is pipeable and perfect for cupcakes!

This frosting is the perfect accompaniment to my low fat pumpkin cake. It can also be paired with the Muffin in a Mug cupcakes from Trim Healthy Mama, or the premade cupcakes from the Smart Baking company.

You can put a good sized dallop of this sugar free frosting on either one of these last 2 and still be in Fuel Pull mode. But of course, you can add it to any S fuel cake as well, if you’d just like to lighten it up a bit.

You can also omit the cake altogether and mix it with berries for lovely fuel pull cheesecake fluff, or mix with any other fruit for an E version.

The possibilities are endless!

The only fat is in the light Laughing Cow cheese, so there’s about 12 grams of fat in the entire recipe, which makes about 2 cups. 1/2 cup would be about 3 grams of fat.

This recipe is just right for a 9×9 or 9 inch round cake. Double it if you’re making 2 layers.

Repin this recipe for later!

Low Fat Sugar Free Cream Cheese Frosting

8 wedges Laughing Cow creamy light swiss

1 cup fat free Greek yogurt

1/2 cup Gentle Sweet (I actually make my own)

2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp gluccie (optional, but will help it thicken)

1/2 tsp optional extracts, such as peppermint, butter, maple, orange, etc

In a blender, add all the ingredients. Blend for about a minute or so, until it is completely mixed.

You may need to scrape it off the sides a couple of times before it is completely blended.

Add frosting to a pastry bag for piping, if desired. Or just spread it on a cake baked in a 9×9 pan or 9 inch round.

For extra fun, add chopped nuts or sugar free sprinkles for a more festive look!

For best results, keep your frosted cake in the refrigerator until ready to serve, if not serving within an hour or so.

    1. I feel like it tastes pretty similar. It is probably a little less firm than a “regular” cream cheese frosting that uses butter and real cream cheese, but it is still firm enough to pipe. It has kind of a cheesecakey flavor, in my opinion.
